A Focus on Corner Brook and
Western Newfoundland is Growing!
hello again,
New in this month are works with themes and subjects of Corner Brook and
western Newfoundland. I've decided that I would take a lot of sceneries here
in western Newfoundland into consideration for painting and have already done
works for the Collection "Corner Brook and Western Newfoundland"
Also, i've started a new Stills collection of photos with a
"surrounding" theme. Items are taken into deep study with the "nu
wherlds" collection.
With some added works can also bring added promo and a few places to display.
Here in Corner Brook, I have several pieces on display at the Ewing Gallery,
the West st. cafe Brewed Awakening and will have one piece, "the Old
Historic Train" on exhibit with fellow artists Clarence Osmond and E. J.
Wareham at the Corner Brook Arts and Culture Centre. This exhibition will
begin on the 8th of June, 2007. Opening is at 7PM.
Hope you enjoy the new works and take care!

New Paintings
and New Digital works added!
hey everyone!
Just an update here on
markadamsart.com along with some new works in Painting and Digital work.
First, a new collection of
paintings has been started. It's called the "Focal" collection,
which will cover a variety of different subject matter with an interest in
changing the focus of different parts of the picture. I hope that, with this
subject and stipulation in mind, the works will feature more movement and
expressionism. I hope you like these works as they appear on the site.
As well, I've begun making many
different mixtures of images taken here in Corner Brook, NL. This new batch,
called the "Corner Brook Distills", are many different manipulated
images, changing color and tone, blending and re-arranging to yield a new
visual image. Click here for a quick look at them.
Oh, and just to mention, i've
added the very first music video from Remnants (on the 909) into the
still-in-progress video section of the site. This video for the song "Electrick"
can be seen here.
thanks for visiting the site and
see you soon!

markadamsart.com
gets a new look, not to mention some new works to display!
hey everyone!
I'm terribly sorry about the lateness in updating! In Mid-February, my
computer faced a critical windows error and wiped out my hard drive. All is
fine with my computer now, but it took soo long to get this site back into
order.
As I was going through the pages i've made before, I thought about changing
it's look, make it take alot from comtemporary software interface designs. the
site now has a new background color (a soft grey), new icons for buttons and
page banners, giving the site a sleeker, hopefully cleaner look and feel. I
hope you like this new change as much as i do!
As well,
Forward to Folklore is a new collection that I have ready for
presenting! The collection isn't quite complete, but it takes on alot of
domestic and non-domestic living styles and elements of it, as well as some
abstractive pieces.
I
also have a new digital collection out. Distinctions
takes items and areas of common day living and distorts or manipulates them to
change one's view of it. You can Click here to see all of these in the {Stills}
(2) pages. I've also done some video art, a new medium that I
decided to try out in inspiration brought on by the late Nam June Paik. Target
Audience (Parts 1 and 2) plays with the idea of the television
being an empty, meaningless technology.
Again, my apologies for not updating sooner! Hope you all enjoy the new work
on markadamsart.com! take care!

A Change in Direction?
EMBRACE CATASTROPE sets off 2007!
Hello again, everyone!
It's that time of
year again. Where we all ring in a brand new year in celebration and rejoice.
I hope you're all having terrific holidays and are enjoying every minute of
it!
To start of the new
year, I'm presenting a new collection called "Embrace Catastrophe". It's a
change in direction for me, in terms of style and subject matter. Much of me
has been driven to take a change in art, as this can be seen as a exploration
of some new ground.
you can Click here to see this new collection!
Again, a Happy
new year of 2007 to you and yours!

"Back Home - The Rest?"
and getting to the groove of Artistic freedom!
August 30th, 2006
Hello everyone! First and foremost,
thanks for dropping by onto markadamsart.com and for taking the time to have a
look around here. If i'm not updating often enough, then I apologize for that.
This summer, I have received many
comments about the
"2006 Back
Home - the paintings, sketches + photos" compilation and had sold many of
it's prints and even originals, too! I would like to take this time to thank
everyone for supporting my work, past and present!
As a sort-or rebirth of the collection,
i've released a 10 piece collection of "remixed" works with the "Back
Home - The Rest" Collection. This is a series of pictures from the "2006
back home" compilation that were edited using the tools offered in Adobe
Photoshop software. Hope you enjoy this unique twist on the common works in this
collection!
Again, thanks for taking the time to
visit! I now am going to take the first year of the Visual Arts program at Sir
Wilfred Grenfel College in Corner Brook, NL, Canada. I feel that i have a
certain range of artistic freedom now in exploring new messages to portray in
art and the mediums in which I can do that with.

July 13th, 2006
Hello everyone! I hope that the summer
holidays are going good for everyone these days and hopefully, everyone is out
and enjoying the nice weather! I'm doing what i've always liked doing, which
is painting and sketching for folks that require it. Yes, it's the time of
year when I have the most free time to do such commission jobs and they're
always great to do.
The
"Back Home
- the paintings, sketches + photos" is doing quite well! Much interest has
been brought to them online and many people have sent many compliments towards
the works. Thanks to everyone that take the time to visit this site and take
even more time to compliment the works!
Also, as some of you may have noticed,
the Fogo Island Flame has a new front and back cover that i've designed. I'm
glad that Carol Penton, Editor of the Fogo Island Flame, as allowed me to make
such an important move and i'm very pleased with the response toward the new
cover by her readers. Thanks, Carol, for allowing me to redesign your cover!

I'm Movin' Along! Promotion of Music Album and the inclusion of Back Home
{Stills} to the "2006 Back Home" Collection!
May 1st, 2006
Hey
again! Just making a quick update here on markadamsart.com! the
"2006 Back
Home" Collection is coming along well, with 5 pieces finished out of the
projected 10-14 pieces for this summer. I certainly can guarantee a larger
collection than that of the "2005 Fogo Island" Collection, which fell short in
amount of works due to commitments with other things, unfortunately.
In other
news here, my solo effort in my first musical recording album,
Remnants (on
the 909) has been complete since late March of this year. I've had it on the
site and have been trying to promote it online since then. In the meantime of
promotion, why not give it a bit of a listen? Click here to listen to the
tracks on the popular media site
newgrounds.com! Those of you with slower
connections (dial-up) may have some difficulties getting to listen to the
songs, but just give it try. The album is mostly a blend of dance, techno and
ambient music and that might not be everyone's cup of tea, but trust me, it's
well worth a listen.
The track listing is as follows (those highlighted are linked to sites that
can let you listen to them):
1: Intro
2: Ordinary
3: Serenity
4: Coastal Wave
5: Deep Impact
6: When to Walk
7: Future Tense
8: Discography
9: Nine
10: Downtownload
11: Havana (nights)
12: Stars 2
13: Many
14: Electrick
15: Alchemy
Also, I'm announcing the release of
Back Home {stills}, a Photo project that will
coincide with the
"2006 Back Home" collection to make the collection more
comprehensive. I found that photography provided a great way for quicker image
catching, making it efficient in ways I can't put.
{Stills} has done wonderfully and i do want to show my skills with
a camera in photography. I'm hoping that this is what the
Back Home {Stills} compilation achieves! The
photos, as well as those pieces in the
"2006 Back Home" collection, will be sold as
prints over the summer, as well as selected, respective originals! Keep watch
here on markadamsart.com for more info!
that's it for now. I'll be still on
the prowl for employment over the summer and acceptance to different schools
for a Degree in the Fine Arts. Please feel free to email me at
markadamsart@hotmail.com with
questions, concerns (or orders, too! lol) and sign the guestbook as well,
because it's always good to see entries. Thanks for visiting and have a good
one!

Double Trouble: Two New Collections in the works! Plus, Two new children's
books underway!
January 19th, 2006
Hello again everyone! With the new year comes a lot of change for a lot of
folks. markadamsart.com is changing, too! Bringing in two more collections to
begin the year; The "2006 Back Home" collection, featuring many works of
scenes all too familiar to those living on Fogo Island.
The other being a conceptual group of workings entitled "Nightlife"; a foray
of night scenery in the line-up of cityscapes to perpetual study in a
student's room. The works will fly in eccentric color and flourescent
lights that can decorate downtown nights or warm up the coldest spots in town.
Nightlife is also in conjunction with my radio show on CHSR, entitled "Nightvision";
A half hour of Ambient, Electronica, Dance and poetic talk!
I apologize for not having updated the website sooner. Again, I'm back into
university with a full course load and I've been drawing and compiling
portfolios for applications to some Fine Arts Schools. University life is
quite good these days, but I'll always anticipate my next trip home after the
spring months. Again folks, take care and thanks for visiting!

The Introduction of {Stills};
A photography Endeavor & Preparing for the Holidays.
November 13th, 2005
Hello everyone! It's been awhile
since last updating the site, I know. I've been withholding something a little
bit out of the usual in terms of artistic work. {Stills}, a foray into my photography, is a lining
project that I hope will establish my work with a camera and future
portfolios, as well as show others just what it is I can capture and the
significance that is in my photos. The site is quite abstract and not so user
friendly, but don't be afraid of it. Please, embrace what I've been doing with
my camera and take it on as a different way of looking at things here.
There have been some recent editions to the "Truly" collection. Yes, I do
realize that both this collection and the "2005 Fogo Island" collection were
both not displaying their respective galleries for quite some time (FTP
problems...tsk tsk..). They are both back in regular order and running again
for everyone to see in what I create next.
Also, for anyone who is wondering, I will be coming back to Fogo Island this
Christmas! hopefully arriving on the 18th of December, I will spend 2 weeks
back home from the hustle of artwork, schoolwork and everything that pokes out
in between. I'll be leaving come new years day, so be sure to drop by the
house, Fogo Islanders!
Enjoy your days, {Stills}, and take it easy,
~ Mark Adams
An Update;
markadamsart.com making a few adjustments & the beginning of "Truly".
September 30th, 2005
Hello all visitors! Just wanted to make a much needed update to the site. Over
the last few weeks, I've been trying to resize the website to make it better
for viewers using a smaller screen resolution. The site is now best viewable
with 1024 X 768 resolution, so any numbers around that will do just fine as
well (like 1200 X 800 ). Also, the Paintings and Drawings have been resized to
better fit everybody's different screen sizes. Hope this makes the site much
more convenient to look at.
Well, certainly there are collections that I have of which are still open. I
am aware of this and I certainly intend on finishing up the opened collections
within this fall season. Now on the site is the brand new collection entitled
the "truly" collection, a series of more portraiture pieces and visuals that,
I hope, extend a raw and brawn feeling, while playing with new concepts. Also
within this collection are new oil pieces. It's been a recent decision of mine
to switch to oil painting for it's flexibility in shading and the extension of
which the paint dries.
That's it for me. For those of you who are wondering, university life is going
by good. I just need to find my artistic niche here in Fredericton, which was
something I couldn't really take with me from home. That's it for now, thanks
for visiting the site and take care!
~ Mark Adams
Welcome
to markadamsart.com! The new home of Mark's Artwork!
August 23rd, 2005
Well, this is it. I've ran out of storage space on Geocities to store
pictures with and there were many problems with the old site (taking too long
to load, horrible bandwidth). So, I've decided to upgrade and get a real
website with no Yahoo Ads or anything that Geocities brings up for the cost of
having a site free. I hope you like the new design and I hope that it's easy
to use.
As far as my artwork goes, it's been tough making it through with a job all
summer and preparation for University in the upcoming fall. But, I Have made
some more pictures over the summer to present to public eye. As for the
Children's book, It's still underway of publishing. Currently, I'm doing some
commission work for locals on the Island, But I will be sure to carry on in
painting and Artwork once I get to University and, Possibly, Make my mark
there. Thanks for visiting the site and take care!
